Dr. Dan Gottlieb – Practicing psychology and family therapist since 1969; host of “Voices in the Family,” an award-winning radio show on WHYY 91 FM; author of several books including Letters to Sam; after a near fatal car accident in 1979, Dr. Gottlieb has maintained his devotion to family and career as well as become an outspoken advocate for all “observing life from the level of a wheelchair.”

Ginny Thornburgh – nationally renowned advocate helping faith congregations become more accessible; co-author of That All May Worship; current Director of the American Assoc. of People with Disabilities Interfaith Initiative; past Director of Religion and Disability Program of the National Organization on Disability; Member of Board of Trustees of Princeton Theological Seminary; recipient of numerous awards and degrees; mother of a son with disabilities.

“Praying with Lior” is the story of a boy with Down Syndrome approaching his Bar Mitzvah, the coming-of-age ceremony in Jewish faith. The documentary grapples with making room for persons with disabilities in our faith communities and challenges how we may see disability—and God. A screening of the film will be followed by a panel discussion with Lior’s family and members of Enable’s Interfaith Advisory Board.
